Furthering my education will enhance my ability to design and implement community-based mental health initiatives. My work with the Brook Center at the University of Dayton, promoting holistic wellness among students, exemplifies this commitment. I can develop more effective programs to support mental health in
schools and the broader community by continuing my education.
In conclusion, furthering my studies in school psychology will equip me with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to make a meaningful impact on my community. By advocating for students, promoting mental health, engaging in research,
and supporting underprivileged youth, I can help create a brighter future for all children.
This commitment to service and education is at the heart of my career aspirations and my desire to improve my community.
Every individual needs a proper education to build a better life. If children are not educated now, how will society progress? My entire focus is going to college to be a better person! Someone who can prove that society did not corrupt my way of thinking regarding school! I have received a multitude of awards, from A honor each year to obtaining Magna & Summa Cum Laude status since my sophomore year! I am the Vice President of my Student Council and hold a few other offices in other school activities & organizations. I am a member of the National Honor and Scholar Society & currently placed in the top 5% of my class.
Being a doctor would be a great service to the community. I go to school in Englewood were many African American people don’t have access to proper healthcare. I will use my degree to make sure that African American women have their voices heard when they are in the emergency room. At many hospitals today, black women are not taken seriously when they come into the emergency room for a health issue. They are almost always ignored. Becoming an African American women's doctor would allow me to use my position to advocate for these women whose voices are often silenced. It feels so good to be helping others and it comes so naturally to me. As an African American and a young lady, it is going to be harder for me to be a doctor and I have to work twice as hard, but I am up for the challenge.
